Framingham Summary

Framingham has a population of about 68,000 and is situated between Boston and Worcester and is the center of the Metrowest region of Massachusetts.  This town offers a mix between city and rural life.    There's a huge retail area along Rt. 9 including Shoppers World and many chain stores and restaurants and this region has a large affect on the state economy.  You can shop and find what you're looking for without having to go into Boston itself.  Not too far away are peaceful residential areas.  There's many different options for housing including small condos to huge million dollar homes depending on your real estate needs.  There are many recreational activities such as sports leagues, golf, nature walks, and much more. 

Geographic features

Framingham is in eastern Massachusetts and has Southborough and Marlborough on the west, Sherborn and Ashland to the south, Natick to the east, Wayland on the northeast, and Sudbury to the north. It's 19 miles west of Boston and located 197 miles from New York City.

Transportation

Major Highways
The main highways are the Mass Turnpike(Interstate 90) and Rt. 9.  Each road runs east-west across Massachusetts Rail.  There is direct rail service to Boston, New York, and all points available on Amtrak.  One can get MBTA rail service to South Station and Back Bay Station.  It usually takes around 45 minutes to get to Back Bay station on the MBTA.

Bus
There are express buses which go to Boston and Logan Airport along with paratransit services for the elderly.  Peter Pan Bus Lines also provides service to Worcester and Boston along with Big W Transportation which provides service to Milford and Hopkinton.

Other
Logan Express offers bus service to Logan Airport straight from Framingham.

Culture and Recreation

There are a number of libraries including the main library in Downtown, along with museums such as the Danforth Museum of Art, and nature trails such as the Garden in the Woods.
